The Lakes of North Wales

The Lakes of North Wales was one of Jonah’s best-loved books. It was both a tribute to the rugged landscape that shaped his life and work and a treasure trove of secret places to which he invited dedicated walkers willing to get away from the beaten track. In this ancient landscape very little has changed since then. The book should continue to be a wonderful practical resource for generations to come.

Originally it was published in 1983 by Wildwood House and then republished in 1987 by Whittet Books. This edition was published in 2002 in paperback by Y Lolfa. Scene & Word acquired the remaining stock of some 240 from the publisher and is now able to offer this rare book at a special price.

The Lakes of North Wales

Jonah Jones, sculptor and writer, walked the paths around the Welsh lakes for decades. Steeped in their legends and literature, he evokes their timeless stories, moods and physical presence in this book, written by a walker for other walkers to enjoy.

Please note that although we charge the same net price in every market, our overseas prices reflect the ever-growing cost of shipping our products outside the UK.
